This is a deciduous California native shrub. Profuse, bright rose flowers dazzle the eye in the spring, with delicate, 3 inch wide rounded leaves following. Usually not more than 12 ft. tall, but can get up to 20 feet tall. Likes rocky slopes and canyons. Low water needs, if adequate amount in winter. Slow grower. Sun/ Part shade. Hardy to about 15-20° F. Resistant to oak root fungus.
